Press play and get “lost” in the music with the soulful return of the In Rotation playlist series. This 12-track playlist was inspired by the groovy, D’Angelo track “When We Get By” off his 1995 debut album Brown Sugar.

In an original review of the album Yahoo Music’s Jeff Watson called Brown Sugar, “One of the most impressive debut albums in years, this record single-handedly revitalized the creatively-dormant R&B scene.”

In Rotation: Lost in Soul is an excellent example of R&B/Soul being constantly elevated as a genre from D’Angelo’s Brown Sugar to present today. This playlist pays homage to the sound that D’Angelo, The Roots, and Erykah Badu perfected in the 90s and blends it seamlessly with today’s artists’ who’ve continued to evolve the sound. Hear the progression of the R&B/Soul sound with tracks from Marie Dahlstrom, Geovarn, and Guordan Banks.
